Independence Day, or the 4th of July, is a holiday set aside to celebrate our democracy. But let’s face it. For most of us, it’s a chance to throw a big party (or go to one), where we can enjoy all sorts of delicious recipes like grilled meats, side dishes, and desserts.
You’ve seen plenty of cute red, white, and blue desserts. But have you tried red, white, and blue cocktails? They will really take your party to the next level. We searched for and found some recipes that are sure to turn into favorites. You can make one of the signature drink recipes at your party.
Let’s get started.
For some of these recipes, you’ll need a blender. We’d suggest 3 blenders or using your Nutri-Bullet with 3 separate cups, one for each color. We’re going to share the link from Advanced Mixology where you can find some festive recipes.Â
Our favorite recipes include:
Check out the recipes and see which one(s) you want to try. And if you know you’ll have guests who just want a beer, have some chilled and ready to go.
Don’t leave your guests who don’t drink out of the fun. Whether someone prefers not to drink alcohol, is a designated driver, or is under 21, you can whip up some fun drinks for them as well that fit the red, white, and blue theme.
Red, White, and Blue Mocktail
This mocktail recipe uses blue Pop Rocks to coat the rim of the glass, much like you would coat the rim of a glass with rock salt for a margarita. Choose your non-alcoholic red drink of choice, and add ice. Voila!
Strawberry-Lime Agua Fresca
Agua Fresca is becoming more and more popular – why not introduce it to your party? Grab a blender, lots of strawberries, and limes for this refreshing strawberry-lime agua fresca recipe.
And if you don’t care so much about the color of your cocktails but care about being able to use your grill, you may want to check out these grilled cocktail recipes. Most of them involve grilling fruit. Save the link for your next party, or to try out yourself with fresh peaches, strawberries, and pineapple!
As always, drink responsibly, and monitor your guests. Be sure to have plenty of water, soda, and other non-alcoholic drinks available. And if your party involves teens and younger children, have a designated person to keep watch over any alcohol. Depending on the size of your party, you might even consider hiring a bartender.
It’s also a good idea to have someone monitor the pool. You may want to consider paying a teen or young adult (even your regular babysitter).
Our office will be closed on the 4th so we can all spend time with our family and friends. If you send us a message, we’ll respond Tuesday. Have a safe and happy holiday!
